In an Instagram post on Saturday, April 11, 2026, she spoke about his character, saying he has always been bold and fearless from a young age.
She explained that her remarks were based on personal experience from their time in school. She said the qualities seen today are not new, as he showed them even back then.
“My school mate he’s been like this since I’ve known him. Sio muoga huyu!” Lydia Wanjiru said.
She added that they attended the same high school and completed their studies in the same year. She explained that their connection goes back many years.

“Methu and I went to the same high school and finished the same year,” Lydia Wanjiru said.
She went on to share more details about their time in school. She said Methu was closely connected to people around her during that period.
“He was actually my high school sweetheart’s deskmate,” Lydia Wanjiru said.
Memories of courage in school
Lydia Wanjiru explained that one of the strongest memories she has of Methu is how he stood up for her during a difficult time. She said she only learned about his actions much later.
“He defended me big time when I faced body shaming, and I learned about it much later,” Lydia Wanjiru said.

She added that this moment showed his courage and willingness to stand up for others. She explained that such actions reflected the kind of person he was, even as a student.
She also spoke about the environment they were in, saying their school shaped many bright individuals. She said it played a role in building strong minds.
“That high school produced the best human minds,” Lydia Wanjiru said.
She further shared that she hopes to bring former students together in the future. She explained that a reunion would show the kind of people the school produced.
“One day I’ll organise a reunion, and you’ll meet the most brilliant minds,” Lydia Wanjiru said.
Her remarks come after recent drama during the memorial of Ol Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho on April 8, 2026. Speaking to President Ruto, Methu said he respects him but is not intimidated, adding that leaders must speak out on what is not working on the ground.
