Kanyari salutes Nairobi woman whose indecent video leaked

By , January 21, 2026

Pastor Victor Kanyari of Salvation Healing Ministry has congratulated a Nairobi woman whose indecent video leaked online a few days ago.

Taking to his Facebook account on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Kanyari thanked Marion Naipei for remaining strong, even as her name continued to trend across social media platforms.

“Thanks for accepting yourself and moving on; great things are ahead waiting for you!” Kanyari wrote.

The pastor’s message has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans applauding him for encouraging the woman while others do not understand a pastor condoning such behaviours.

Support amid online pressure

Marion Naipei became the centre of attention after a disturbing clip of her was circulated online while she was allegedly intoxicated.

The video, which was shared widely without her consent, left many social media users divided, with some mocking her, while others condemned the act of recording and exposing her during a vulnerable moment.

Kanyari’s post appeared to take the softer side of the conversation, urging Naipei to focus on healing and not allow the shame to define her future.

His message also seemed to reflect a growing call by some Kenyans for compassion, especially when viral moments involve humiliation and cyberbullying.

Mosiria’s response

Kanyari’s remarks come just days after Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria defended himself for standing with Naipei and demanding justice.

In a statement shared on Facebook on Monday, January 19, 2026, Mosiria said he had faced backlash from different corners of the internet after speaking out but insisted that his position was guided by the law and basic human dignity.

“Both the girl and the boy could be in the wrong. But my stand is not about taking sides; it’s about what the law says, especially on forcefully recording and sharing content without consent,” Mosiria stated.

He noted that what disturbed him most was how some people seemed to normalise filming others without permission and circulating such content online as entertainment.

Mosiria further questioned why those calling out wrongdoing are often attacked instead of the people responsible for violating privacy.

“It makes you wonder, have we become a society so rotten that clear violations of the law are now seen as normal, and those who speak the truth are treated like criminals?” he posed.

With Kanyari now weighing in, the Marion Naipei incident continues to dominate online conversations, raising fresh concerns about consent, privacy, and how quickly social media can turn a painful moment into public judgement.
