Kanyari calls himself stupid in late-night regret social media post

By , January 21, 2026

Just a month after he went public to openly state that he would not confront his adversaries and that he had totally surrendered himself to God, Pastor Victor Kanyari now appears to be licking his wounds in regrets.

Through his Facebook account on Wednesday, January 21, 2025, the Salvation Healing Ministry pastor shared a short but loaded message that left many followers reading between the lines.

“The quiet Kanyari… Harmless Kanyari!!!!! “Stupid me,” Kanyari wrote.

The post, though brief, quickly sparked reactions online, with some fans wondering what exactly pushed the controversial preacher into what looked like a late-night moment of self-reflection.

A man under pressure

Kanyari’s message comes at a time when his private life has remained under sharp public attention, especially after the death of his ex and late baby mama, Betty Bayo.

In the past few weeks, Kanyari has also been trending over the ongoing conversation surrounding his children, Sky and Victor, and where they should stay as the family navigates a new chapter.

In an earlier post shared on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Kanyari insisted that he would not force the children to live with him, saying he would allow them to make their own choices.

Ni mimi tu nililipa flight ticket, na wakirudi ni wao tu wataamua kwenye watakaa. They have the freedom to choose where they want to stay,” he said.

The preacher also disclosed that he had paid for their travel plans, even though he had never been to the United Kingdom himself.

On Monday, nimewalipia Ndege waende vacation. Mimi sijawahi Kanyanga UK, lakini nilipowauliza wanataka kwenda wapi, walisema UK. Hiyo ni elfu mia nne,” Kanyari added.

Family drama still lingers

The debate around the children had also been fuelled by remarks from Betty Bayo’s mother, Joyce Mbugua, who by then demanded answers on what caused her daughter’s death.

“A postmortem must be carried out on my daughter’s body so that we can have clarity on what exactly killed her,” she said.

Joyce further claimed she had spoken to Kanyari and asked him to pursue full custody of the children, even as she raised concerns over other family matters.

With Kanyari now posting what many believe is a regretful message, Kenyans are once again left speculating whether the pastor is overwhelmed by the weight of grief.
