TikToker Vincent Kaluma, popularly known as Kaluma Boy, has addressed claims of misusing millions raised after his plight went viral in September 2025.

In a terse statement on TikTok, Kaluma Boy questioned why critics and well-wishers who helped him continue to be on his case long after the funds were raised.

Admitting that he has been the target of sharp words across social media, the TikToker sought to set the record straight on Monday, February 24, 2026, when he stated that he now makes money from brands he works with and no one should be on his case.

He told off those not impressed, noting that he has run out of options and has consequently decided to address the matter.

“Itabidi tu mmejaa ngori kwa sababu what will I do? Mimi nakuwanga tu nimetulia, mmeniattack (You will continuebeing angry because I have nothing else to do),” he said in the video.

Making his money

He noted that he has transitioned to working with brands, making his own money, which he uses to finance his life, and people should not be mistaken that he is using their contributions.

“I have companies that I am working with, I am making my own money, and I am doing my own thing,” he said.

He also made it clear that all the monies were channeled to the treatment of his ailing father and the construction of a new house for the family.

“For your information, pesa zenye mlichanga zilienda kushughulikia mambo ya nyumba na mzae,” he added.

This loosely translates to: “All the money that you raised went to the construction of the house and my father’s treatment”.

Kaluma Boy: ‘Wahenga hawaamini’

Alluding to the Swahili proverb “Tenda wema nenda zako”, Kaluma boy stated that his case would even shock the wise men who coined the proverb, as those who helped have refused to move on.

Hata wahenga hawaamini watu walisaidia na hawataki kwenda zao (The wisemen are no doubt surprised that people helped but are stuck on my case),” he added.

Kaluma Boy warmed the hearts of millions on social media as he documented his experience caring for his elderly father and going about his daily business.

TikTokers from across the country made the journey to Othaya to stand in solidarity with him, with well-wishers contributing money to help the family.

Bishop Ben Kiengei of Jesus Compassion Ministry is among those who jumped on the wave as Kaluma Boy became an overnight internet sensation with more goodies flowing in.
