Kalekye Mumo on why strength training is key for women over 40
By Valerian Khakayi, March 24, 2026Kenyan media personality Kalekye Mumo has made strength training a central part of her wellness journey, proving that fitness after 40 years is about more than just losing weight.
In a bold statement shared on her official Instagram account on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the former radio host said that at 50 years old, her focus is on becoming strong, stable, and confident in her body.
She emphasises that building muscle and stability is not about vanity, but it is about functional fitness that supports everyday life, prevents injuries, and boosts confidence.
“Strength training is a non-negotiable in any sustainable weight loss and wellness journey, especially for women over 40,” Kalekye wrote.
“At 50, I’m not just focused on losing weight… I’m focused on becoming strong, stable, and confident in my body.”
