Jude Magambo flaunts Brian Chira tattoo in tribute 2 years after his passing

TikToker Jude Magambo, popularly known as Manzi Wa Meru, has shown off a tattoo he got of Brian Chira in an emotional tribute aimed at celebrating his second death anniversary.
In a video shared on his TikTok page on Thursday, March 19, 2026, Jude displayed the tattoo, which is inked on his back, while singing One Call, a song Chira had grown fond of in the days leading up to his tragic death.
In the video, he also made sleek dance moves as he revealed that the tattoo is still intact despite having been done many months ago.
While sharing the post, Jude also made an emotional prayer to God, asking Him to continue resting Chira’s soul, adding that they still carry him in their hearts.
“Continue resting in peace, Chira,” he wrote, adding love emojis.
Untimely passing
The incident occurred around 4:00 am after Chira had spent the night at a local resort.
Witnesses and police reports indicate that he had been involved in a disturbance at the establishment and was escorted out by security.
A friend, Zeleck Momanyi Alfonso, encountered Chira outside and offered him a ride home on a motorcycle.
Upon arriving at the Gacharage roundabout, Chira alighted from the bike and attempted to cross the road on foot, where he was struck by a speeding white lorry that fled the scene.
The medical cause of death was later confirmed through an autopsy as multiple organ injuries and blunt force trauma to the head, consistent with a high-impact traffic accident.
His life was marked by significant personal challenges, including being orphaned at a young age and raised by his grandmother.
He gained national attention not only for his viral “It’s Chira, Brian Chira” catchphrase but also for his brave transparency regarding his HIV-positive status and his ongoing battles with depression and alcohol.
Chira’s funeral on March 26, 2024, became a major national event, drawing thousands of mourners to his grandmother’s home in Githunguri.
In a touching tribute to his unfinished education at Kabarak University, he was buried wearing a graduation gown at his grandmother’s request.
The “Chira Clan,” his dedicated TikTok fanbase, demonstrated an unprecedented level of support by raising over Ksh10 million in less than a week.
This fund was used to give him a dignified send-off and to fulfil his greatest wish: building a permanent, modern house for his grandmother to ensure her financial security.
