Heartwarming reunion as Mosiria meets boy he saved in Nairobi CBD

By , February 2, 2026

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has reunited with a boy he rescued from the streets of Nairobi in the dead of the night.

Mosiria shared heartwarming photos of their reunion on Facebook on Monday, February 2, 2026.

He narrated how they first met in the Central Business District (CBD) at night, recounting that the minor was confused, tired and vulnerable with no home.

“How many of you remember this young boy I rescued in the CBD almost at midnight? He was stranded alone in the cold streets, confused, tired, and vulnerable, with no one to protect him and nowhere to call home, “Mosiria aid.

What went through Mosiria’s mind

Sharing what went through his mind on that cold night, Mosiria said that he saw beyond the child’s situation, narrating that he saw a mix of innocence and hope in the minor’s eyes.

“When I met him, I didn’t see a ‘street child.” I saw a young boy with so much potential. I saw innocence in his eyes. I saw fear mixed with hope. I saw a child who simply deserved love, safety, education, and a chance at a better life,” he said.

Emphasising that every child deserves love, care and an opportunity to pursue their dreams, Mosiria noted that circumstances push some children to the streets.

His clothes were dusty, his face tired, but his spirit was still strong. You could tell he just needed someone to care, someone to believe in him, and someone to give him an opportunity to start again.

“No child chooses the streets. Circumstances push them there. Let us continue being our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. Every child deserves protection. Every child deserves hope. Every child deserves a future. Sometimes all it takes to change a life is stopping, listening, and helping.

Joyful reunion & Mosiria’s appeal

The head of the customer care department in Nairobi County was filled with joy upon witnessing the minor’s transformation following his intervention.

“Today, I’m happy to share that he is safe at a children’s home. He is happy, healthy, and doing well. He now has a bed to sleep on, food to eat, friends to play with, and the chance to go to school like every other child,” he said.
