Githaiga wa Chai marks birthday with cake shaped like tea in sufuria
By David Nthua, March 9, 2026Content creator Githaiga Wa Chai has lived up to his name.
This is after he chose to mark his birthday celebration with a cake customised to look like tea boiling in a sufuria.
In a post on Facebook on Sunday, March 8, 2026, Githaiga expressed joy after friends turned up to celebrate with him as he marked his entry into his 30s.
The TikToker is known for sharing exclusive gossip with his fans, some that made him be in the wrong side of the law.

Githaiga Wa Chai celebrated
“Namibieni nani atakura hiiii keki… Kae nimwajabia ehhhhh. At least I can afford a smile. Wanja na family wamefika… wananiambia ata nikiwapiga wametumwa wanisikirie,” he wrote.
The birthday cake, designed to resemble tea in a cooking pot, quickly caught the attention of many of his followers online, with several congratulating him and sending birthday wishes.
Among those who celebrated him publicly was MC Chris Kirubi, who praised the content creator and wished him well.
“A brother never fails. Happy birthday, Githaiga Wa Chai. We did it,” Kirubi wrote.
Secular artist Wanja Asali also joined in the celebrations, posting a message wishing him a long life.
“Happy birthday, Githaiga Wa Chai. More life my brother,” she wrote.

Their messages were among many that appeared on social media as fans and friends reacted to the unique birthday celebration.
Reports of low turnout
However, the birthday celebration also sparked conversation online after claims emerged that the event may not have attracted the turnout Githaiga expected.
Social media user Eric Chege suggested that the gathering did not match the strong support the content creator often receives online.
“Today was meant to be a joyful birthday celebration. After standing at the forefront defending many people online and building strong friendships on social media, he organised a small birthday gathering and invited many of those he has supported over time,” Chege wrote.
According to Chege, several people who usually interact with Githaiga online did not attend the event.

He claimed the situation reportedly left the content creator emotional and reflecting on the difference between online support and real-life friendships.
Chege also noted that many of those who attended the gathering were members of JCM Church, a gesture that he said did not go unnoticed.
Despite the mixed reactions surrounding the event, many followers continued sending birthday wishes to Githaiga, hoping the new year brings him stronger friendships and continued success.
