Full details of Apostle Joseph Likavo’s farewell, including confirmed burial dates

International Vision Centre (IVC) Eldoret has confirmed the dates for the memorial and burial services of the late Apostle Joseph Likavo, bringing clarity to followers and the public who have been awaiting details since his passing.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the church, the family, and the funeral planning committee expressed gratitude for the patience, prayers, and support extended by members of the congregation and the wider community during this difficult period.

“The family, the church and the funeral planning committee sincerely appreciate your patience, prayers, cooperation, and overwhelming moral and material support during this difficult time. We thank God for His grace, comfort and strength as we continue with the preparations for the homegoing of His servant Apostle Joseph Likavo,” the statement read in part.

The statement, signed by Rev Paul M. Kamau, IVC General Secretary, Bishop Julius Atsango, and J. Algango, chairman of the funeral planning committee, thanked God for His grace, comfort, and strength as preparations for the homegoing of the late Apostle continued.

According to the announcement, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, followed by the burial service on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

“We wish to notify you of the following confirmed funeral program: There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, 27th January 2026. The burial service will take place on Wednesday 28th January 2026,” the statement added.

Both events are scheduled to take place in Eldoret city, with further details regarding the programme to be communicated in due course.

The committee emphasised that the family, the church, and the organisers are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming moral and material support received, noting that the cooperation of followers has been vital in planning for the proper farewell of the church leader.

Untimely demise

Previously, K24 Digital broke the news that Apostle Likavo, who is the founder of International Vision Centre (IVC) in Eldoret, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, while undergoing treatment in the United States.

The IVC Ministry, in an official statement on Friday, December 19, 2025, described his passing as a heavy moment for his family, the church fraternity, and the wider body of Christ.

“Further to our brief communication yesterday, the family, IVC church & Ministries wishes to inform the congregation, the body of Christ and the general public that our Spiritual Father, Senior Pastor and presiding Bishop Apostle Joseph Likavo, passed on yesterday, 18/12/2025, while undergoing treatment in the USA,” the statement read in part.

They remembered the preacher as a spiritual father who faithfully served God with distinction, carrying a clear vision, an apostolic mandate, and a shepherd’s heart.

“This is a heavy moment for His family, the IVC fraternity and associated ministries, the body of Christ, and all whose lives were touched by his ministry, leadership, and fatherly grace. Apostle Joseph Likavo faithfully served God with distinction, carrying a clear vision, an apostolic mandate, and a shepherd’s heart,” the statement added.
