Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has recounted a terrifying ordeal after surviving a grisly road accident along Kangundo Road.

Speaking in a TikTok video on Sunday May 3, 2026, Mosiria described the experience as shocking, noting that it was unlike anything he had ever encountered before while on the road.

He explained that the incident occurred on a flyover along Kangundo Road, just before the turnoff to Mama Lucy Hospital near Outer Ring Road. According to him, traffic was flowing normally across three lanes, with each driver maintaining their lane as they cruised.

“We were on the flyover at Kangundo Road just before branching to Mama Lucy near Outer Ring Road. We were all cruising when the lorry driver suddenly swerved without any indicator, with intentions well known to him,” he revealed.

Mosiria stated that he was driving in the middle lane, while a lorry driver was in the outer lane. However, the situation quickly escalated when the lorry suddenly swerved without indicating, moving dangerously into his path.

He noted that the sudden and unexpected movement raised immediate concern, especially given the size of the lorry and the potential risk it posed to other road users.

“I want to speak about something that has shocked me and something I have never encountered before in my life. While on the road, accidents happen and it is usually not the driver’s wish. But here is a situation where the driver of a huge lorry was not in his lane, and we had three lanes. I was driving on the middle lane and he was on the outer lane,” he said.

Following the initial incident, Mosiria said they stopped and began questioning whether the driver had intentionally tried to harm them, given the manner in which the vehicle had been handled.

He added that in an attempt to avoid further danger, he moved his vehicle out of the middle lane and into the far lane to give the lorry space. However, the situation took another alarming turn shortly after.

According to Mosiria, the lorry driver stopped momentarily, and as he continued driving past, the driver suddenly swerved again, this time directly into his lane, before speeding off.

“After the accident, we stopped and started asking each other if this guy wanted to kill us, and that’s the exact words I used. I then moved out of the middle lane and entered the far lane so he could remain where he had swerved into,” Mosiria said.

The sudden manoeuvre forced Mosiria to apply emergency brakes, causing his vehicle to lose control.

He said the car veered off and hit the pavement before eventually coming to a stop.

He noted that the impact and the events leading up to it left everyone in the vehicle shaken and panicked.

“Then all of a sudden, he stopped, and as I continued driving and neared his lorry, he immediately swerved into my lane and sped off. I stepped on the brakes, my car lost control, and I hit the pavement, but it eventually stopped,” he shared.

Mosiria further revealed that the incident reminded him of a recent accident involving former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, which heightened his fears about reckless driving by operators of large vehicles.

He questioned the intentions of the lorry driver, pointing out that the driver had made multiple dangerous moves before the final impact, raising concerns about whether the actions were deliberate.

“That is why I said it felt like he wanted to kill me. Then something came into my mind; just days ago, Honourable Jirongo got into such an accident and died. So people driving huge vehicles can be very careless. I kept asking myself if he had ill motives because he attempted to hit us twice before hitting us. I was so shocked because he hit us with such force that everyone in the car panicked,” Mosiria said.
