Cukura ya Nairobi reconciles with Wanja Nyarari weeks after clashing at Betty Bayo’s burial
By Steve Ireri, December 31, 2025YouTuber and Facebook influencer Cukura ya Nairobi has reconciled with social media personality Wanja Nyarari, weeks after their highly publicised clash during the burial of gospel singer Betty Bayo.
Cukura shared photos and videos on his Facebook page on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, showing him and Wanja together, including one image in which they shook hands in what appeared to be a symbolic handshake.
The reunion comes after a tense confrontation at Betty Bayo’s burial that had dominated social media discussions for days.
In one post accompanying the photo, Cukura appeared to poke fun at their past disagreement, noting that it was the first time in 2025 that he and Wanja had appeared together in a single photo.
He joked about the handshake happening immediately, without the two even sitting down, as he shared the image showing himself, his wife and Wanja Nyarari.
“Finally, Wanja Nyarari and I are in one photo in 2025. The handshake happened immediately — we didn’t even sit down,” he wrote.
In a separate post, the YouTuber revealed that Wanja had assisted him with a personal family matter.
He stated that Wanja took him to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he said she helped him secure money to facilitate dental treatment for his mother.
“Wanja Nyarari took me to the CEO at Kenyatta Hospital immediately, and now she is counting money for me,” he wrote.

Cukura shared a video showing him counting Ksh1,000 notes, which he claimed had been given to him by Wanja to help cover the medical costs.
“She gave me the money I am counting to help facilitate my mother’s dental treatment at Kenyatta Hospital,” he added.
The public show of unity marks a sharp turn from events that unfolded during Betty Bayo’s burial in November 2025, where Cukura accused Wanja of physically confronting him.
At the time, he claimed he had been restrained and slapped during the funeral, allegations that quickly went viral and ignited heated debate online.
“Wanja Kihii, let me talk to you publicly since your behaviour yesterday was public. In my experience, you decided to slap me for absolutely nothing. If I had done anything wrong, real authority was right there. What you did was pure attitude, nothing else,” Cukura wrote.
She maintained that strict measures were put in place to protect the privacy and dignity of the family, citing multiple attempted security breaches during the ceremony.
“Meet Sky Victor 254, The Youngest Commanding Officer I’ve ever served under since I trained. The command came unexpectedly on the evening of Wednesday, 19:00HRS E.A.T., clear, firm and mission-focused. The Principal Family Liaison appointed by Tash 254 was Mr GK, the family Chairman, and Mr G, the logistic Liaison,” she wrote.
