Content creator Chebet Ronoh has warned that telling the truth to ego-driven people can have serious consequences.

In a long Instagram video on Saturday, January 10, 2025, she said many respected adults, even those with jobs, businesses, and families, struggle emotionally.

“People have jobs, they have businesses, they have family, systems, they are almost the most respected persons in their field. But emotionally…you meet growing adults throwing tantrums,” she explains.

She notes that these are not occasional outbursts, like someone getting drunk, but consistent patterns.

“You know how many humans operate like this? We are not moving. It is actually safer to be a loner,” Ronoh says, pointing out the risks of challenging egos in everyday life.

The cost of confronting egos

Ronoh said that those who speak truth to ego-driven people often face punishment.

“You just bring the truth to ego-driven people and see your life flash before your eyes,” she said.

She warned that when people tell you to “mind your business,” they are serious.

“They will punish you for seeing them,” Ronoh adds, describing the hidden dangers behind respect and status.

She also talks about the lessons learned from these encounters.

“You guys have never seen a mask fall. You know what I came to realise, what you experience is for you,” she said.

Ronoh stresses that these experiences, though painful, can teach resilience and clarity.

According to her, the pressure of navigating relationships with emotionally fragile individuals can be overwhelming. She notes that even highly respected people can act immaturely when their egos are threatened, which makes honesty difficult.

Ronoh urges others to be careful while maintaining integrity. She says that understanding human behaviour and knowing when to speak up are essential skills. Her message highlights that not all battles are worth fighting, especially when personal safety and peace are at stake.

She concludes by noting that life lessons often come from facing difficult people. While it can be tempting to confront wrongdoing, Ronoh reminds that survival and growth sometimes require patience, strategy, and careful judgment.
