Chebet Ronoh advises Kenyans to work out to get over life challenges
By Nancy Marende, April 3, 2026Content creator Chebet Ronoh has encouraged Kenyans to turn to physical exercise as a powerful way to cope with life’s struggles, saying it played a transformative role in her own journey through hardship.
Speaking on Friday, April 3, 2026, on Instagram, Ronoh shared that her advice comes from lived experience, noting that she has faced emotional pain, including grief, rejection, financial difficulties, and abandonment.
Despite describing herself as a sensitive person, she said she found healing in an unexpected place, consistent physical movement.
“Whatever you are going through in life, however hard it has become, grief, financial loss, rejection, no job, I have the cure: move your body. I’m not even joking.”

Rono emphasised that exercise, particularly strength training, helped her process emotions and rebuild her mental resilience.
She urged those struggling with heartbreak or personal setbacks to consider joining a gym and lifting weights as a starting point.
“Get into a gym if you can afford it and lift heavy weights. If I was able to forgive people who did me wrong, something I never thought I could do,” she explained.
She also highlighted the importance of accountability, encouraging individuals to work with a trainer or a workout partner to stay consistent.
According to Ronoh, results are not immediate and require discipline over time.
“It will not work if you do it for one month. You need at least three months of consistency. Get someone to hold you accountable and show up.”
For those unable to afford gym memberships, Rono suggested home workouts as a practical alternative.

She pointed out that people can use online platforms like YouTube or follow simple bodyweight routines from home.
“If you can’t afford the gym, put on your TV, phone, YouTube, lift weights in your house or your body weights,” she added.
