Zuchu announces she is expecting her first child

The award-winning musician shared a series of maternity photos showing off her baby bump alongside ultrasound scan images on Thursday, July 30, 2026, confirming the news and marking a new chapter in her personal life.
In the accompanying post, Zuchu said she was embracing the journey to motherhood with love and excitement, adding that she hoped to welcome a healthy, chubby baby
“Growing Love and Eating for Two, please be a chubby baby,” Zuchu wrote, expressing her excitement as she prepares to embrace motherhood.
The announcement quickly attracted thousands of reactions from fans, fellow musicians and celebrities across East Africa, many of whom congratulated the singer and wished her a safe pregnancy.
Breakup and new chapter
The pregnancy reveal comes weeks after Zuchu announced that she had ended her relationship with Diamond Platnumz, a revelation that surprised many of her fans.
Addressing her supporters at the time, the singer said she and her partner had parted ways and that she had chosen to prioritise herself after six years together.
“Hello, my GPG. Mimi na aliyekuwa mwenzangu, we are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself,” Zuchu said.
Although neither Zuchu nor Diamond has publicly shared further details about the separation, their relationship has long been marked by highly publicised breakups and reconciliations, often leaving fans wondering whether each split would be permanent.
Her latest pregnancy announcement has once again placed her personal life in the spotlight, with supporters celebrating the news and flooding her social media pages with congratulatory messages.
While Zuchu did not reveal her baby’s due date or gender, the baby bump photos and ultrasound scans she shared confirmed that she is preparing to become a mother for the first time.
