Video of moment police vehicle arrived to pick Stoopid Boy’s body breaks hearts online
By Steve Ireri, August 28, 2026A heartbreaking video capturing women wailing and residents making frantic cries as a police vehicle arrived in Riverbank to collect the body of late Gotta City rapper Stoopid Boy has left many people online deeply emotional.
The video was shared on the morning of Friday, August 28, 2026, by TikTok user Stacey, who resides just a few metres from where the “G Bag Na Jug” hitmaker lived.
In the short clip, a large crowd of residents is seen gathering around the entrance of a residential block shortly after the police vehicle arrived at the scene, with its siren blaring as the sombre reality of the rapper’s death sank in.
At that moment, police officers entered the house and, with the assistance of other residents who had gathered around the scene, retrieved the body of the popular rapper, who had died at his home.
The video captures the officers carrying the body outside and carefully placing it inside the waiting police vehicle, as more residents continued to mill around the scene, seemingly struggling to come to terms with the devastating turn of events.
Women could be heard wailing loudly as the body was being taken away, their cries punctuating an already tense and grief-stricken atmosphere in the neighbourhood where the rapper had lived.
More residents continued arriving at the scene, with some standing silently as others openly expressed their grief over the death of the artiste who had become a familiar face in the community.
The video then shows the police vehicle preparing to leave the estate after the body had been placed inside, while residents remained gathered around it.
The vehicle later switched on its flashing lights and slowly crawled out of the estate, as several residents followed behind, with mournful wails and emotional sobs continuing to break out among those who had gathered.
His life in Gotta City
The rapper became widely known after his memorable contribution to the hit “G Bag Na Jug”, a song that helped propel him into the spotlight during the rise of Kenya’s Arbantone music movement.
His connection to Gotta City, however, remained a defining part of his story.
The area, also known as Riverbank, is an informal settlement in Nairobi’s Embakasi East Constituency, located across from Donholm Phase Five and near the route towards Kayole Mihango.
In May 2024, the deceased rapper gave his followers a tour of the informal settlement he called Gotta City, showing them the streets, businesses and surroundings that formed part of his everyday life.
During the tour, he also introduced his followers to friends and neighbours while showcasing the environment in which he lived despite his growing popularity as a musician.
Children in the neighbourhood warmly welcomed him as he walked through the settlement, with some singing along to his songs and celebrating the artiste they had watched rise from their own community.
