Tony Ndiema’s widow Florence poses next to his grave in emotional video days after his burial
By Steve Ireri, August 14, 2026Florence, the widow of late Ohangla icon Anton Okoth Ochieng, popularly known as Tony Ndiema, has shown off the final look of his grave, which has been finished with black tiles, in an emotional update days after his sombre burial.
In a video shared on TikTok by Tony Ndiema’s fan Mama Liam on Friday, August 14, 2026, Florence is seen posing beside the grave as Mama Liam explained why she had asked Florence to show her Ndiema’s final resting place.
In the video, Florence appears shy and reserved, repeatedly turning her attention to her phone as Mama Liam spoke words of encouragement to her.
The clip shows the grave looking fresh and neatly finished, although the huge piles of flowers that had been placed around it during the burial had already started to wither.
Message to widows
While sharing the emotional update, Mama Liam revealed that she had deliberately sought out Florence after visiting Tony Ndiema’s grave, saying she wanted to meet and encourage his widow because she, too, understood the pain of losing a husband.
“I came here to pray at this grave of Tony Ndiema, and I said I also have to see his widow,” Mama Liam said.
She explained that her desire to meet Florence was personal because she had also experienced the loss of her husband.
“Because I am also a widow, she is called Florence, and I want to tell her that being a widow is not a good thing,” she said.
Mama Liam revealed that she lost her own husband in 2024, saying the experience had given her an understanding of the difficult journey Florence was now beginning.
“I also lost my husband in 2024,” she said.
She then urged Florence to remain courageous and strong as she comes to terms with life without her husband.
“I tell her to be courageous and be strong,” Mama Liam said.
She extended the message beyond Florence, appealing to widows across the country to stand by one another and offer support during the difficult moments that follow the loss of a spouse.
“I urge all widows out there; please let us support each other,” she said.
Mama Liam further noted that widowhood is an experience that can affect anyone unexpectedly, urging people to recognise how suddenly life can change.
She reassured Florence that she was loved and had people willing to stand by her as she navigates the difficult period.
“Because this is something that can befall anyone, anytime, without expecting. All in all, we love you so much,” Mama Liam said.
Mama Liam also praised Florence for standing by Tony Ndiema during his life and for ensuring that he received a dignified farewell following his death.
“And I want to thank Florence for standing with Tony,” she said.
She reflected on the manner in which the Ohangla icon was laid to rest, saying she was grateful that he received the respect he deserved.
She further praised Florence for being a supportive wife to the late musician, saying Tony was fortunate to have had a good woman by his side.
“At least Tony has been buried with respect. And it was good that he had a good wife,” Mama Liam said.
Mama Liam then promised to maintain contact with Florence and continue visiting her in the days ahead as she adjusts to her new reality.
“From time to time, I will be visiting you,” she said.
