American rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg has announced an unusual job opportunity for ice cream lovers, with the successful applicant set to earn about Ksh1.29 million every month.

The position is for an international ice cream taster for his Dr Bombay brand and is open to applicants from anywhere in the world, including Kenya.

Snoop announced the opportunity on Friday, August 28, 2026, as the brand looks to expand its flavours and draw inspiration from different parts of the world.

Global search begins

The rapper, who co-founded Dr Bombay with his son Cordell Broadus in 2023, has partnered with hiring platform Deel to recruit the successful candidate.

Announcing the opportunity, Snoop encouraged people from across the globe to consider applying for the unusual position.

In a promotional video, he said the company was looking beyond the United States as it searches for new flavour ideas.

“Today, we are going global, baby. And we need you to help us find new flavours,” he said.

The role comes with a three-month contract paying US$10,000 per month, equivalent to roughly Ksh1.29 million.

Over the full contract, the successful applicant would earn about US$30,000, or approximately Ksh3.87 million.

Snoop also highlighted the worldwide nature of the opportunity, saying: “10 grand a month, you can apply anywhere in the world.”

Taste test duties

The successful candidate will not simply be required to eat ice cream.

According to the job description, they will taste-test dairy-based ice cream, track emerging food and flavour trends and provide feedback that could influence future products.

The taster will also help identify flavours that could appeal to consumers in different markets.

Social media will form another part of the job, with the successful applicant expected to create content and share ideas around food and flavour combinations.

The role will also involve helping shape future marketing ideas for Dr Bombay.

Snoop teased potential applicants in his announcement, saying: “If you keep it player, you might end up here with me.”

Anyone can apply

Applicants do not need formal culinary training to qualify for the unusual role.

Candidates will be asked about their experience with ice cream, their passion for the frozen dessert and their ability to create engaging social media content.

One of the application questions asks how much ice cream a candidate eats each week.

Another challenges applicants to create a social media post about a food or flavour combination they are currently obsessed with.

The position is remote, although the successful candidate may be required to travel and attend regular check-ins with the team.

Applicants must also be comfortable working in English and have a valid passport.

Interested applicants can apply for the International Ice Cream Taster position through Deel’s official application page.
