Virtuous voices

Mtalii has also been using her platform, Virtuous Voices, to amplify women’s stories, dreams and leadership journeys.

Through the initiative, she seeks to create a space where women can share their experiences, find encouragement and recognise their potential to make an impact.

Her message centres on resilience, self-belief and purpose, with Mtalii positioning women’s empowerment as an important part of her personal journey.

Her focus on women and purpose has also been reflected in her previous messages about virtue, leadership and building successful businesses. In one of her earlier posts, she said a virtuous woman can raise strong children, build successful businesses and create an impact beyond herself.

Career in tours and travel

Beyond her advocacy work, Mtalii has built a career in Kenya’s tours and travel industry.

She is known for her role in building Bonfire Adventures, a travel company that grew from an idea she developed while at university. She previously explained that her campus project involved finding ways to market small hotels that lacked an online presence, an idea that eventually developed into a travel business.

Mtalii has continued to remain active in the travel space, including through Virtuous Explorers, where she has been involved in travel experiences and content covering destinations in Kenya and beyond.

Her Forbes Africa feature now adds another milestone to a career that has combined entrepreneurship, travel and a growing commitment to empowering women.

For Mtalii, the recognition is not only about her personal achievements but also about using her journey to encourage other women to embrace their stories, pursue their ambitions and lead with purpose.
