Pastor Jerry Eze surprises singer Nathaniel Bassey with brand-new Range Rover on 45th birthday
By Ascah Mwango, August 28, 2026Nigerian gospel minister Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has received a lavish birthday surprise after his friend and fellow preacher Pastor Jerry Eze gifted him a brand-new Range Rover as he turned 45.
Bassey shared details of the surprise on social media on Friday, August 28, 2026, saying he had initially planned to spend his birthday quietly giving thanks to God.
He revealed that the surprise had been organised by Eze in collaboration with his wife, leaving him caught off guard.
“Woke up yesterday just desiring a nice easy day of gratitude to God. Unknown to me my brother and friend @realjerryeze had this holy coup ongoing with my wife,” Bassey wrote.
He said the gesture left him struggling to find the right words to express his gratitude.
“Of a truth the surpriser had been surprised. Still don’t know how to really express this in words,” he added.
‘My brother can’t drive that’
According to Bassey, Eze insisted on getting him the best option after his wife suggested a particular vehicle.
“In His words, ‘my brother can’t drive that,’” Bassey recalled.
The gospel minister said the gift was not the first time Eze had gone out of his way to support people close to him, describing his friend as someone who gives generously.
“Pastor Jerry, not only has he done this for me. I know of a couple of other ones like this He is currently planning. The man gives like his life depends on it,” he said.
Bassey publicly thanked Eze for the surprise, while stressing that their friendship was not dependent on material gifts.
“You know even if you never do this, I’d still love you the same. Thank you Sir. Like I told you, I am speechless,” he wrote.
He also prayed that the joy Eze had brought to him and his family would return to the pastor and his family many times over.
“May the smile you have put on my face and family been seen in multiple folds on you and yours in Jesus’ name,” Bassey said.
Bassey then asked his followers to join him in thanking Eze for the birthday surprise.
“So please, help me Thank Him on my behalf. Weary him today with gratitude. Tell him his brother is grateful,” he added.
The surprise came as Bassey celebrated his 45th birthday, with the gospel minister using the occasion to publicly celebrate both the gift and the friendship behind it.
