Nurse Judy recalls racist client experiences, reveals how agencies defended her
By Katemarthason Okudo, August 19, 2026Nurse Judy has opened up about some of the difficult experiences she has faced while working on concierge nursing assignments, revealing that she once encountered clients who asked an agency not to send her back because of her race.
In a series of posts shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the nurse reflected on both the challenges and the rewarding moments she has experienced in her profession.
Despite admitting that she has encountered a few unpleasant situations, Judy said her journey has largely been filled with positive experiences that continue to strengthen her passion for her work.
According to her, every new assignment seems to bring an even better experience than the previous one.
“Ever since I started these concierge assignments, every time I’m thinking, ‘This is the best assignment, the best client, the best family and the best experience,’ then boom, it keeps getting even better,” Judy said.
She added that she is currently working with a family that has made her appreciate her profession even more.

Judy recalls two difficult experiences
While sharing her experiences, Judy revealed that she had only encountered two families she described as racist. She explained that the families were uncomfortable working with her and eventually asked the agency not to assign her to them again.
According to Judy, the problem was never related to her work or professionalism.
“I have had only two instances where I walked into racist families. It’s always the problematic racist families who will have an issue with you. They didn’t like me, and they asked the agency not to send me to them again,” she explained.

Judy said one family even claimed that they struggled to understand her accent. The situation became so uncomfortable that she was removed from the assignment after only two days.
Agencies stood by her
Despite the disappointment, Judy said the agencies she worked with immediately defended her and reassured her that she was not responsible for what had happened. She praised her employers for recognising her work and refusing to judge her based on the clients’ complaints.

“My agency was quick to tell them, ‘That’s one of the best nurses we have,'” she said. According to Judy, both agencies she works with consistently rank her among their top-performing nurses because of the positive feedback they receive from families.
She revealed that some clients specifically request that she return for future assignments.
“My clients give top-tier feedback to the agency. Some of them even say, ‘We don’t want another nurse right now. Please send Judy back,'” she shared.
Although the experience left her disappointed, Judy said she was grateful that her employer understood the situation and even compensated her after the assignment ended earlier than expected.
“I love it when your employer understands that you are not the problem and the client is,” she said.
