Ndeke Ya Muthanga recalls time wife was earning Ksh100, admits going through tough times
By Steve Ireri, July 29, 2026Kamba dancer and gospel singer Ndeke Ya Muthanga has recalled the difficult period he went through with his wife, Maggy, revealing how she supported him when they were struggling financially.
Speaking in an interview with Rick Be, which was shared on TikTok on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Ndeke said he could never cheat on Maggy because of the sacrifices she made for him when their life was difficult.
Ndeke recalled that Maggy was working in a hotel and earned only Ksh100, saying she would secretly take food from her workplace and bring it home for him to eat.
“And I can never cheat on my wife. I remember she was once working in a hotel when we were struggling, and she was being paid only Ksh100,” he said.
Ndeke said Maggy would go to great lengths to ensure that he had something to eat despite her own difficult circumstances.
“And she would take food from that hotel and she would take chapati and hide in her clothes, and that time she was just a small girl. And she would bring for me to eat,” he recalled.
The gospel singer also remembered another occasion when Maggy brought him eggs, describing the gesture as another example of the commitment she showed towards him during their difficult years.
“And there was another time it was about eggs, and she still never gave up on me,” he said.
Reflecting on the support he received from his wife, Ndeke said Maggy accepted him without doubt and remained by his side despite the challenges they faced.
“Aai, and she accepted me without doubt,” he said.

Ndeke said the sacrifices Maggy made during their difficult years were among the reasons he would never contemplate being unfaithful to her.
“That is why I can never even dare to serve her heartbreak with cheating,” he said.
Wife’s gift
In a post shared on Facebook on Friday, April 3, 2026, the ‘Kisunguli’ hitmaker could be seen posing beside his wife as he unveiled the red motorbike to her.
In the photos, he hugged her warmly and allowed her to pose while seated on the motorbike outside their new house.
While sharing the images, Ndeke revealed that he had planned the surprise as a token of appreciation for his wife, noting how dear she is to him.
He encouraged her to use the bike for her daily errands, especially when going to and from the market, and expressed hope that he would one day upgrade her to a car when his fortunes improve.
“Today I have surprised my wife with a motorbike. My wife, when you are going to the market, I want you to be using that bike, and when I get blessed so well, I will of course buy you a car,” Ndeke wrote.
In a separate post where he shared a photo of the motorbike alone, Ndeke expressed joy at reaching a point in life where he could afford such a meaningful gift for his partner.
He opened up about how much his wife, Maggy, means to him and urged her to ride the bike with pride, describing it as a symbol of their union.
“This motorbike today was a surprise for Maggy. I love you so much, my wife, and this bike is yours, so be proud and know that you are mine forever. I love you,” Ndeke wrote.
