Mosiria: Woman with multiple baby daddies is automatic red flag for men

Men have been urged to carry out due diligence before committing to marriage, with Geoffrey Mosiria, warning that having children with multiple partners should be considered a major red flag.

Speaking after attending the 2026 Men’s Conference held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Saturday, August 15, 2026, Nairobi County’s chief officer for customer engagement and citizen service advised men to take time to understand a potential partner’s background, relationships, and family situation before making the decision to marry.

According to Mosiria, a woman who has several children with different men should prompt a man to ask serious questions before proceeding with marriage.

“If a woman has 2, 3, 4, or 5 children with different men, that is an automatic red flag and should prompt a man to stop, ask serious questions, and carefully consider the situation before proceeding with marriage,” Mosiria said.

Another red flag

According to Mosiria, dishonesty about a woman’s past can also become a serious issue in a marriage.

He warned men against overlooking situations where a potential partner conceals previous marriages or fails to disclose the number of children she has.

“Another red flag is when a woman is not truthful about her previous marriages or hides the number of children she has, only for the truth to come out after marriage. That level of dishonesty should never be ignored,” he added.

He argued that such dishonesty should not be ignored when a couple is considering a lifelong commitment.

Advise to men before marriage

Mosiria encouraged men considering marriage to go beyond emotions and take time to understand the person they intend to build a life with.

He advised men to learn about a potential partner’s background, past relationships, previous marriages, and family circumstances before making a commitment.

“My honest advice to all men is this: if you are considering marrying a woman, do your due diligence. Take time to understand her background, past relationships, previous marriages, and family situation before making such a serious commitment,” Mosiria urged.

While acknowledging the importance of love in a relationship, Mosiria said it should not be the only consideration when deciding whether to marry.

“Marriage is a lifelong commitment. Love is important, but so are honesty, transparency, accountability, and due diligence,” he said.

He further cautioned men against allowing emotions to prevent them from paying attention to issues that could affect their future marriages.

“Men should not allow emotions to blind them to red flags. Ask the difficult questions, seek the truth, and make an informed decision before saying ‘I do,’” Mosiria said.

“Let us continue having honest and respectful conversations about the challenges facing men and the boy child in Kenya.”
