Kenyan fitness influencer Gachau Njoroge has called on bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts to embrace collaboration, encouragement and mutual support instead of allowing envy and insecurity to define the industry.

In a message shared on his Instagram Stories on Monday, September 21, 2026, Gachau reflected on the importance of lifting each other up, saying bodybuilding should not be treated as a solitary pursuit.

Gachau calls for a supportive bodybuilding community

Gachau said there is enough room for everyone in the bodybuilding space to succeed, urging those in the industry to abandon a mindset of scarcity.

“We rise by lifting each other,” he wrote, adding that growth was never meant to be a solitary pursuit.

“There is room enough for every one of us to thrive. Abundance, not scarcity, is the true nature of this craft,” he added.

The fitness influencer encouraged bodybuilders to make supporting one another a habit rather than viewing fellow athletes as competition.

He also warned against holding onto envy, describing it as an unnecessary burden.

“Let us make a habit of elevating one another, for envy is a weight far too heavy to carry, and love travels so much lighter,” Gachau wrote.

‘Every rep is cheered rather than measured’

Gachau further imagined what the bodybuilding industry could look like if athletes prioritised encouragement over suspicion and comparison.

“Imagine an industry built on that principle where support outweighs suspicion, and every rep is cheered rather than measured against someone else’s,” he said.

His message touched on how insecurity can affect relationships among people pursuing similar fitness goals.

“Insecurity only isolates; it builds walls where bridges were meant to stand,” he wrote.

Gachau maintained that bodybuilding should ultimately be rooted in passion and appreciation for the craft rather than constant comparison with others.

“Bodybuilding, at its heart, has always been an act of love. Let’s train like we believe that,” he concluded.

The message comes as fitness communities continue to bring together athletes with different levels of experience, physiques and competitive ambitions, making encouragement and healthy competition important aspects of the training environment.
