By Valerian Khakayi, June 4, 2026Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo has melted hearts online after dedicating a romantic song to her husband as he celebrated his birthday.
Millie, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, shared a video of herself singing Amy Grant’s “I Love You” to her husband during the birthday celebration that was held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, using the touching gesture to express her love and appreciation for him.
In the song, she highlighted themes of deep love, commitment, and standing by each other through life’s changes.
Millie on the dedication
Beyond the romantic dedication song, the legislator accompanied the video with a heartfelt revelation that she had decided to surprise her husband with the performance despite not being the most confident singer.

Millie jokingly complained that her family members were more focused on her singing voice than the message she was trying to convey.
“So yesterday was the birthday of my hubbie. I decided to be romantic and sing him a song. Hehehe, my family members are not kind, they laugh at you even though I had told them to focus on the words and not the sound,” Millie wrote.
“Anyway, I have decided to stick to ” Kanungo e teko ” like songs from now on.”

I love you
In the song, Amy Grant expresses deep love, commitment, and devotion to a partner. The lyrics speak about loving someone more deeply than imagined, standing by them through life’s changes, and working through challenges together.
The song also reflects on the realities of relationships, acknowledging that true love is not built on perfection but grows stronger during difficult moments. It highlights the importance of accepting both the strengths and flaws of a partner, suggesting that genuine love is often forged in life’s darkest seasons.
“I love you. Deeper than I ever dreamed of, I need you. Staying here ’til we can work it out, I want you. Knowing that through all the changes I love you. Somehow I just had to tell you now,” Amy Grant sang.
“Oh, to stay your princess If I only could If you never saw the rotten; Only saw the good You’d still be Prince Charming. But we would never know How it’s in the darkest times True love finally grows Come on true love grow.”
The message appeared to resonate with Millie’s birthday tribute, as it mirrors themes of enduring love, commitment, and growing together through the ups and downs of marriage.
