Geoffrey Mosiria shares update on sick woman he rescued from Westlands
By Ascah Mwango, June 15, 2026Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Customer Engagement and Citizen Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has shared an encouraging update on Sangita, a woman he rescued from the streets of Westlands after finding her sick, vulnerable and struggling to survive.
In a statement shared on his X account on Monday, June 15, 2026, Mosiria revealed that Sangita has fully recovered and is continuing her rehabilitation at Mother Teresa.
“Do you remember Sangita, the lady I rescued from Westlands when she was sick and suffering? She has now healed and is currently at Mother Teresa. I will be visiting her this week to check on how she is doing,” Mosiria stated.

Months after her rescue, Mosiria shared photographs showing a remarkable transformation, revealing that she had regained her health, confidence and dignity. At the time, he said many people had dismissed his efforts, accusing him of seeking publicity through acts of charity.
“When I took that step, many people said it was a PR stunt, kwamba ni vipindi tu. But I have always been clear that this was never about me. It was God using me as a vessel to rescue His child,” he wrote.
Mosiria has consistently maintained that helping vulnerable people is part of a personal calling rather than a public relations exercise. He has often used his social media platforms to highlight the plight of homeless individuals, abandoned children and people battling addiction in Nairobi.
According to him, Sangita’s story serves as a reminder that many people suffer quietly while society passes them by unnoticed.
“True Christianity is reflected in how we treat the neglected and the vulnerable,” Mosiria said in a previous update on her recovery journey.
The county official previously visited Sangita at Mother Teresa, where she was admitted for treatment and rehabilitation. During that visit, he noted that she was responding well to care and was showing significant improvement in both her physical health and emotional well-being.
“I am happy to share that she is doing well. She has improved greatly because, for the first time in a long time, she has a safe place to sleep, a roof over her head, and people who care for her,” Mosiria wrote.
The latest update suggests that her progress has continued steadily over the past several months.
Mosiria said that he plans to personally visit Sangita later this week to assess her progress and offer encouragement as she continues rebuilding her life.
