Edmond Salasya’s Death: Peter Salasya recalls bond with late KBC radio taifa presenter

In a heartfelt tribute shared on Friday, September 11, 2026, Salasya said Edmond’s sudden death had left his family, the community and the media fraternity struggling to come to terms with the loss.
“Death is painful, sudden, and never easy to accept. But even in the midst of our tears and sorrow, we hold on to the comfort that it is well in the Lord,” Salasya said.
Salasya said the neighbouring village of Enyera, Mumias East Constituency and the wider media fraternity had lost “a great son, a media icon, and a humble servant” who had dedicated more than 20 years of his life to KBC Radio.
Salasya remembers Edmond
Salasya said his relationship with the late presenter went beyond his work in the media, describing him as a close friend and member of his community.
“Edmond Salasya was not just a media personality to me. He was my friend, my neighbour from Kisumundogo Village, my clan member, and a brother,” he said.
He described Edmond as a man whose “humility, kindness, and good heart” touched many people.
“He was a man whose humility, kindness, and good heart touched the lives of many. His presence brought warmth to those around him, and his voice became familiar to countless people over the years,” Salasya said.
According to Salasya, the news of Edmond’s death after he suddenly collapsed came as a shock to those who knew him.
“The news of his sudden passing after collapsing has left us shocked, broken, and struggling to understand why such a good soul has been taken from us so suddenly,” he said.
Salasya added that the loss had affected the family and clan deeply, describing it as a painful reminder of the fragility of life.
“As a family and as a clan, this loss has hit us very deeply. It is a painful reminder that life is so fragile and that tomorrow is never promised,” he said.
Salasya’s message to family
In his tribute, Salasya addressed Edmond directly, saying his death had left a void that would be difficult to fill.
“Edmond, my brother, your departure has left a painful void that words cannot adequately describe,” he said.
He said he joined Edmond’s immediate family, relatives, friends, colleagues at KBC and the wider media fraternity in mourning his death.
“I join your immediate family, relatives, friends, the entire KBC family, your colleagues in the media fraternity, and all Kenyans who knew and loved you in mourning your untimely departure,” Salasya said.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for Edmond’s children, family, friends and colleagues.
“May God give your family the strength to bear this unbearable pain. May He comfort your children, relatives, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose life you touched,” he said.
Salasya ended his tribute by honouring Edmond’s legacy and the impact he had on those around him.
“Rest well, Edmond. Your voice may have gone silent, but your memories, your kindness, your humility, and the lives you touched will forever speak for you,” he said.
“You have fought a good fight. You have finished your race. Now rest in the arms of the Lord. Shine on, my brother. Shine on, my friend. It is well in the Lord. May your soul rest in eternal peace.”
