Dr Ofweneke goes after politicians’ families over their silence on Kenya’s problems

By , August 18, 2026

Comedian and media personality Dr Ofweneke has criticised the families of politicians, accusing them of staying silent while their relatives take part in what he described as harmful actions.

He said he would continue speaking out because of his love for Kenya and its heritage. He also said he wants politicians to behave themselves.

“I am not going to rest until….I love my country too much. I have travelled around the world for me to see how much I have a beautiful country and a beautiful heritage to always come home to,” Dr Ofweneke said on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Dr Ofweneke explained that his travels have made him appreciate Kenya and its heritage even more. He said this love for the country is one of the reasons he feels strongly about speaking out. He added that he intends to continue pushing politicians until they change their behaviour.

“I am going to push you to the end until politicians behave themselves,” Dr Ofweneke said.

The media personality then turned his attention to what he described as a silent group of people connected to politicians. He said some people act as though they are not part of the system or affected by what happens. According to him, these people are the families of politicians.

Dr Ofweneke questions politicians’ families

Dr Ofweneke said politicians’ families should not act as though they are unaware of what their relatives do. He explained that wives and children may see politicians take part in rallies and make statements before returning home. He questioned how their families respond to them after such events.

“Now, there is a silent group of people who pretend as if they are not part of the system, as if they are immune to what happens behind the curtains, pretending they are not in this country. They don’t know what is happening. And those are the families of these politicians,” Dr Ofweneke said.

He said his message was also directed at the wives and children of politicians. Dr Ofweneke explained that he wants them to think about the actions of their relatives and how they respond when they return home. He questioned whether they should simply welcome them without addressing what happened in public.

“And this video goes to the wives and the children of these politicians,” Dr Ofweneke said.

Dr Ofweneke then questioned the families about how they receive politicians after rallies. He said family members may see or hear what their relatives say in public but still treat them differently once they return home. He challenged them to consider what they are accepting within their own homes.

“And I want to ask you, what conscience do you harbour to see your husband, wife, or father talk t** on rallies and they come home, and you receive them as if they are Superman,” Dr Ofweneke said.
