Dr Ofweneke calls out some pastors over suspending congregants who attended Rhema Feast

In a video shared on Monday, September 14, 2026, Ofweneke said he had received information through his direct messages and conversations with people indicating that some church leaders had taken action against members who attended the Christian gathering.
“I think we are overreacting; there are some intels I am getting from my DM and also having close conversations with people, and there are some pastors and church leaders who have suspended their part of their congregation for attending the Rhema Feast,” Ofweneke said.
He challenged the affected church leaders to consider whether such action was consistent with the message of love and unity they preach.
“You can seriously call yourself a man of God who preaches love and unity, and you are suspending your church members for attending the Rhema Feast. Are you out of your mind?” he added.
Ofweneke challenges Kenyan pastors
Ofweneke further challenged Kenyan pastors to spend more time in prayer and seek deeper revelation as they minister to a younger generation.
“I want to challenge some of our Kenyan pastors, and I want to tell you this: if you do not spend enough time with God and in prayer, you will not get enough revelation for this generation,” Ofweneke said.
He argued that the current generation is increasingly discerning and wants more than conventional promises about financial breakthroughs.
“This generation is too intelligent; it is beyond you telling them Ksh 10 million will appear in their accounts miraculously. This generation wants to find God more,” he stated.
His comments come amid discussions around the Rhema Feast and the reaction of some church leaders to their congregants attending the event.
Rhema Feast 2026
Rhema Feast 2026 was held at Uhuru Park in Nairobi from August 31 to September 4, 2026, bringing together Christians for five days of worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and spiritual renewal. The annual gathering was convened by Reverend Julian Kyula, the founder of Ruach Assemblies and the visionary behind Rhema Feast.
The 2026 edition was held under the theme “Come, Let Us Rebuild”, drawn from Nehemiah 2:17. The organisers describe Rhema Feast as a non-denominational Christian gathering that brings together believers from different backgrounds with a focus on the Word, worship and fellowship.
The five-day programme ran from Monday, August 31, to Friday, September 4, with sessions centred on prayer, worship and biblical teaching. Several forums and side events were also held alongside the main programme.
The gathering attracted thousands of worshippers, with President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto among those who attended the final day at Uhuru Park.
