Dada Sarah reveals Karangu’s brother Kagema launched his comedy journey from his home
By Steve Ireri, August 10, 2026Kikuyu cross-dressing content creator Dada Sarah has revealed that Karangu Muraya’s brother, Kagema, began his comedy journey while staying at his home, recalling the early days before the comedian gained wider recognition.
Speaking during a burial meeting held in honour of Kagema on Sunday, August 9, 2026, Dada Sarah said Kagema started performing comedy at his home at a time when he had not yet adopted the stage name associated with his career.
Dada Sarah recalled that Kagema was initially performing comedy from his home before taking the craft more seriously and eventually becoming known to a wider audience.
He said the name Kagema was given to the comedian by Njoki and Wa Kairu, who were involved in his early comedy journey.
“And Kagema started doing comedy while in my house. At that time, he had not taken up the name Kagema yet. He was given that name by Njoki and Wa Kairu,” Dada Sarah said.
Dada Sarah also described his home as a place where emerging performers could discover and develop their talents before eventually moving on to bigger productions.
He said his role was to provide an environment where people could demonstrate their abilities, gain confidence and begin building their careers.
“My place, I would say, is a nursery to always show people they have talent and they can act,” he said.
Dada Sarah recalled how performers who developed their talents at his home would eventually move on to larger productions once they had gained enough experience.
He said such transitions were never viewed as competition, adding that he has always believed in supporting people even after they leave his platform.
“And when you stay a bit and get wings, you move out and go to other big productions, and we never have competition or hatred. We always support each other,” he said.
The content creator then mourned Kagema, asking for him to rest in peace while remembering the contribution he made to the creative community.
“So may God rest Kagema in peace,” he said.
Dada Sarah vows to support Kagema’s sister
Dada Sarah also turned his attention to Kagema’s sister, Cess, revealing that she had recently joined his creative crew.
He said Cess had shown talent and that, with the blessing of the family, he would continue supporting and mentoring her as she develops her own creative journey.
“And Cess, who is Kagema’s sister, also recently joined our crew, and if the family allows us, we will keep on building her and supporting her because she is talented,” he said.
Dada Sarah said the decision to support Cess was also influenced by the close bond she shared with her late brother.
He said the creative team would continue walking with her during the difficult period of mourning and in her future artistic pursuits.
“And we will move on with her. She loved Kagema so much, and we are together with her,” he said.
