Breeder honours Stoopid Boy with a performance of his famous hit ‘G Bag’

Kenyan rapper Breeder has paid tribute to late Arbantone artiste Stoopid Boy by performing their popular hit ‘G Bag Na Jug’ during an event on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The performance came on the same day news of Stoopid Boy’s death emerged, with Breeder using the stage to remember the artiste and encourage the crowd to honour his memory.
While addressing the audience, Breeder acknowledged the loss and described the day as a difficult one for the Kenyan music scene. “Sad news leo tumepoteza Stoopid Boy, ni siku mbaya sana. Let’s all say tuko nyere. Let’s all say long live Stoopid Boy,” Breeder told the crowd.
He then performed ‘G Bag Na Jug’, a song that helped introduce Stoopid Boy’s sound to a wider audience.
Breeder’s connection to ‘G Bag Na Jug’
Breeder was among the artistes featured on the remix of the viral song, which became popular for its catchy hook, Sheng-heavy lyrics and street-centred sound.
Stoopid Boy’s verse became one of the recognisable parts of the song, with references to ruracio and Kanairo alongside the memorable line, “Watauliza tuko wapi si tuko G bag a jat.”
The song received another boost in March 2024 when a remix featuring Mejja, Breeder LW, Gody Tennor and Spoiler was released. The remix brought together several established names and helped the track reach more listeners beyond its initial street following.
For Breeder, performing the song on the day Stoopid Boy died offered a moment to remember the artiste through one of the works that connected them.
Stoopid Boy dies
Stoopid Boy, whose real name was Edger, died on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was best known for ‘G Bag Na Jug’, which became associated with the growing Arbantone sound in Kenya.
His death left fellow artistes and fans mourning an artiste whose music had gained attention through collaborations and street-inspired songs. His close friend, singer Jay Classic, confirmed the death in a Facebook video after arriving at Stoopid Boy’s home in Gota City, where mourners had gathered.
Jay said Stoopid Boy’s manager, Casto, was also present as family, friends and other mourners came together following the news. “It is really bad. But we pray for the family and we pray to God that all will be well,” Jay said while appealing for prayers and strength for the grieving family.
Jay also made claims about the circumstances surrounding Stoopid Boy’s death, saying the artiste had died by suicide. The circumstances of his death had not been independently established at the time of reporting.
A family facing another loss
According to Jay, Stoopid Boy’s death came less than two months after the death of his brother. The news therefore left the family dealing with another loss within a short period.
As tributes continue to come in from the entertainment industry, Breeder’s performance of ‘G Bag Na Jug’ provided a moment for fans to remember Stoopid Boy through the music that helped make his name known.
