Ameokoka: Kanyari opens up on Marion Naipei’s spiritual journey
By Valerian Khakayi, July 17, 2026Pastor Victor Kanyari has shared an update on Marion Naipei’s spiritual journey, saying she has embraced the Christian faith but is still growing in her walk with God.
Speaking during a church service on Friday, July 17, 2026, Kanyari said Marion is saved but described her spiritual growth as still being at an early stage.
“Marion ameokoka, lakini ameokoka 10 percent,” Kanyari said.
Kanyari added that Marion was gradually growing in her faith and expressed confidence that she would one day reach full spiritual maturity and preach before the congregation.
He, however, maintained that she was still at the beginning of her spiritual journey.
“Anaendelea aki increase per cent yake, siku moja itafika hundred na atakuwa anahubiri hapa mbele, lakini sahi ni 10 per cent,” he said.

Plans to ordain Marion
The preacher’s remarks come months after he revealed plans to eventually ordain Marion as a pastor, saying he believed she had the potential to serve in ministry.
He said he intended to mentor and guide her as she continued to grow spiritually.
“Very soon, Marion atakuwa our pastor hapa, nitam ordain hapa na akuwe pastor atakuwa anatuhubiria hapa hata mimi atakuwa pastor wangu,” Kanyari revealed.
Kanyari has also previously urged Marion to remain committed to attending church, at one point warning that he would stop paying her rent if she continued skipping services.
“I can’t continue paying Marion Naipei’s rent only for her to stay at home. She doesn’t come to church. Today, I even heard that she was coming, but she hasn’t shown up,” he said.

According to Kanyari, the church would now have to look for Naipei to establish why she failed to honour her commitment to attend the service.
Despite issuing the warning, the preacher maintained that he and members of the church still cared deeply about Naipei, describing her as one of their own and insisting that she remained a valued friend of the ministry.
“Now we’ll have to go and look for her wherever she is. She is our great friend. Naipei, we really love that girl. She is one of us. We love her,” he added.
His latest comments suggest he remains optimistic about Marion’s spiritual progress, expressing confidence that she will continue growing in faith and eventually fulfil the ministry role he envisions for her.
