5 things Zuchu said about her painful breakup with Diamond Platnumz

While confirming the split, the Tanzanian singer, whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud, also shared an emotional message about choosing herself, prioritising healing and accepting that not every love story has a happy ending.

- The decision was not easy
The singer said she made the announcement with a heavy heart after spending six years with Diamond.
“I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself,” she said.
- She accepted that the relationship had come to an end
The singer said they tried to make the relationship work but accepted that everything happens according to God’s plan.
“Riziki imeisha, Alhamdulillah. Tulijaribu lakini Allah ana mipango yake na sina budi kuikubali. Ndio ubinaadamu, ndio maisha,” Zuchu said.
- Her priority is healing and her career
Zuchu said she now wants to focus on recovering emotionally while also paying attention to her health and work.
“As for me, muda huu ni wa kupona na kufocus zaidi kwenye afya na kazi zangu.”
- She confirmed they were going through a divorce
Zuchu revealed that she and Diamond Platnumz had separated and were going through a divorce after six years together.
“Mimi na aliyekuwa mwenzangu, we are now separated and going through a divorce,” the bongo star revealed.
- She wished Diamond and his family well
Despite the breakup, Zuchu said she harbours no ill feelings towards her former partner and wished him and his family the best.
“Namtakia aliyekuwa mwenzangu Naseeb Abdul na familia yake kila la kheri.“
While Zuchu has publicly confirmed the end of her marriage to Diamond Platnumz, the singer has yet to comment on the breakup or respond to her announcement.
Zuchu’s Nikah
Zuchu and Diamond held their Islamic wedding, Nikah, in 2025.
On Sunday, June 1, 2025, Diamond shared a photo of himself with Zuchu in Islamic traditional wedding attire on his official Instagram account, accompanied by a long cryptic message.
In his post, the Bongo Flava sensation spoke about the maturity of staying silent even when people speak falsely about you.
“One of the things I’ve learned is the maturity of remaining silent… This maturity requires a high level of patience. It demands you to have endurance, especially when someone or people falsely accuse you in public, while you know the truth but choose to stay quiet,” he wrote.
“It is not easy, but the rewards are great because your battles are fought by God, and you end up winning every time.
In addition, the Wasafi boss said that he knew everyone had a different image of him and marriage but that he wanted to reveal that he had been married before and that one day he would explain what had happened.
