Arsenal F.C supporters erupted in celebration in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after the club won the English Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.

Videos shared online showed large groups dressed in Arsenal jerseys moving through the streets as celebrations continued after the historic victory.

The celebrations were led by the self-proclaimed Kenyan Arsenal General Useful Idioty, who was seen at the front of the group as supporters marched around the CBD. Many of those present wore Arsenal shirts as they celebrated the club finally ending its long wait for the league title.

“Tumekaa for 22 good years sindio? Wakitupigia kelele, wakituita bottlers FC. Tukanyamaza,” Useful Idioty said.

The Arsenal supporter continued addressing fellow supporters during the celebrations. He encouraged Arsenal followers around the world to celebrate loudly after years of criticism and disappointment during the club’s long wait for another Premier League title.

“So as the Arsenal general, I want to tell all Arsenal fans worldwide, let us make this celebration as loud as the disrespect that we have faced for the past 22 years,” Useful Idioty explained.

Celebrations after historic victory

The celebrations in the CBD came shortly after Arsenal were officially confirmed as Premier League champions. The club secured the title after Manchester City drew 1-1 against Bournemouth, ending Arsenal’s 22-year wait for league glory.

“Hakuna huruma? Sawa sawa? Watu wavae ma jersey, ukitaka, vile utacelebrate, wewe celebrate,” Useful Idioty said.

He also encouraged supporters to continue sharing their celebrations online. According to him, Arsenal supporters deserved to fully enjoy the moment after years of waiting and difficult seasons.

“Uki celebrate, ukipiga picha, ukipost online, nitag, mimi nita repost,” Useful Idioty added.

President William Ruto also joined in congratulating Arsenal after the title victory. The president, who has openly spoken about supporting Arsenal in the past, shared a message reflecting on the club’s journey back to the top of English football.

“It has been quite an experience to follow Arsenal Football Club’s epic adventure, from times of struggle and crushing setback to successive seasons of recovery and resurgence on their glorious path to the summit of the English Premier League,” President William Ruto said.

The president further praised the club’s determination and discipline throughout the season. Arsenal’s latest triumph marks their first Premier League title since the famous Invincibles campaign during the 2003/04 season.
