Her passion for music started early. She began dancing and imitating artistes as early as age 7, showing signs of a performer long before stepping into the spotlight.
By her teenage years in high school, she was already writing her own songs and rededicating her life to Christ, laying the foundation for her future in gospel ministry.
Before fully committing to music, Alice worked as a banker. The corporate path offered stability, but her passion for gospel music continued to grow stronger, eventually pulling her towards a full-time calling in ministry through song.
Breakthrough moment
Her breakthrough came in 2009 with the release of “Wewe Pekee”, a song that quickly became a national worship anthem.
The track cut across churches, radio stations, and personal playlists, earning her a loyal following. Its message of devotion and surrender made it one of the defining gospel songs of its time, and even years later, it continues to circulate widely on digital platforms.
As her audience grew, Alice Kamande built a catalogue of spiritually rich music that strengthened her position in the industry. Songs such as “Omba,” “Nimfahamu Yesu,” “Wi Munene,” “Sambaza” and “Tumaini Langu” showcased her ability to combine powerful vocals with messages rooted in faith and encouragement. Each release reinforced her identity as an artist committed to gospel ministry rather than commercial trends.
Collaborations and consistency
Her consistency also extended into collaborations. One of her most notable partnerships was with Dar Mjomba on the song “Shukurani,” a thanksgiving anthem that gained wide reception for its uplifting message.
