Police nab 9 over robbery in Soy

Police in Uasin Gishu County, Soy, have successfully apprehended nine persons of interest following a robbery with violence incident.

In a statement on Saturday, August 30, 2025, the operation, described by authorities as intelligence-led, resulted in the recovery of several items reported stolen during the attack.

Among the items retrieved were a camera, a laptop with a charger, a microphone with a cable, two hard disks, and assorted electronic accessories.

In addition, a motor vehicle linked to the robbery and several mobile phones were also secured by police officers. All items have been positively identified by Royal Media personnel.

The persons of interest are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, September 1, 2025, where the legal process will continue.

Authorities have assured the public that similar operations will continue across the county to ensure that all persons involved in violent crimes are held accountable, reinforcing the message that criminal behaviour will not be tolerated in Soy and surrounding areas.
