Person of interest nabbed as police seize 70 litres of Chang’aa and drugs in Narok

A person of interest been arrested in Lolgorian, Narok County, after police seized a large quantity of illegal alcohol and drugs.

In a statement shared by the National Police Service (NPS) on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the individual was intercepted in Ololtingual Village by officers from Lolgorian Police Station, who were acting on a tip-off from the public. During the operation, authorities confiscated 70 litres of Chang’aa, a local illicit brew, and a quantity of narcotics.

The individual is currently in custody, awaiting processing and arraignment in court. The seized items are being held as evidence at the police station.

The National Police Service said the arrest is part of its ongoing efforts to tackle the menace of illegal alcohol and drugs. They urged members of the public to continue supporting the fight by reporting anyone involved in such activities.

“Officers from the National Police Service based at Lolgorian Police Station, acting on a tip-off from the public, have arrested a suspect and confiscated 70 litres of Chang’aa and a quantity of narcotics. The suspect was arrested in Ololtingual Village and placed in custody, pending processing and arraignment in court,” the NPS statement read in part.

Adding;

“The seized items are being held as evidence at the station. The National Police Service reiterates its unwavering commitment to combating the menace of illicit alcohol and narcotics. We encourage members of the public to continue supporting this effort by reporting anyone involved in such illegal activities.”

This comes days after police seized 500 litres of Kangara and 20 litres of Chang’aa during a raid in Rachuonyo North Sub-County, leading to the arrest of a person of interest.

According to the authorities, officers from Kendu Bay Police Station carried out the operation at a brewing site in Nyakwere Village, Kobuya East. The illegal alcohol, produced for distribution, posed serious health and safety risks to the community.

“Police in Rachuonyo North Sub-County have intensified their efforts to combat the production and distribution of illicit alcohol following a successful operation in the Kobuya East area. During the operation, officers from Kendu Bay Police Station raided a site in Nyakwere Village, where illicit liquor was being produced. They recovered 500 litres of Kangara and 20 litres of Chang’aa,” the police stated.
