Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has addressed on-air rumors that her relationship with her baby daddy Diamond Platnumz is the cause of his breakup with his singer girlfriend Zuchu.
Speaking to a blogger, the South African-based socialite firmly dismissed the speculations noting that the love birds have been having problems for quite a while.
She also noted that Zuchu has been frequently exiting the relationship.

“Zuchu and Diamond have had issues even before. Zuchu claiming she ended the relationship because of my video with Diamond is false. Zuchu leaves Diamond every week and comes back. She continues to deny being in love. She lacks faithfulness, and even her mother has often said she doesn’t support her relationship with Diamond. They have issues, and I can’t be blamed. They’ve taken me as an easy target whenever they have a fallout. We have moved on, and I am married, while he has had other women before Zuchu.”
Zari explains video with Diamond
This comes a week after a video of Zari and Diamond holding hands as they walked together like a couple on Thursday, February 22, 2024, subsequently prompting Zuchu to announce the end of her relationship with Diamond.
The mother of five also disclosed the circumstances surrounding the controversial video featuring her and Diamond.
She revealed that Diamond approached her during their recording session in Johannesburg, seeking her assistance in promoting his music after he expressed dissatisfaction with its performance.
She also explained that she and Diamond had moved on and their relationship had evolved to a friendship and people should stop using her as a scapegoat when their relationships don’t seem to work.

“We were recording in Johannesburg, and Diamond Platnumz told me his music video wasn’t doing well, so he asked me to help promote the song. Tanzanians are blowing this out of proportion, saying I don’t want to move on. Baba Tee (Diamond) is the father of my children, and we have a good relationship. There was a time when we were former lovers who parted ways bitterly, but we have moved past that stage.”
Diamond begs Zuchu for forgiveness
On February 24, Diamond made a plea for forgiveness to his lover, Zuchu, just a day after she announced the end of their relationship.
In a video shared by Rick Media, Diamond joined Zuchu onstage during her performance, to confess his love while dropping to his knees to ask for forgiveness.
The ‘Komando’ hitmaker revealed that he travelled from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar to surprise Zuchu at her show in a bid to win her back.
He revealed that the advice of his friend, Haji Manara, prompted him to set aside his ego and ask the songstress to take him back.
“My brother Haji Manara advised me to drop my ego and go to Zanzibar to ask for forgiveness and maybe I might be taken back by Zuchu,” Diamond expressed.
“I have come here not just to sing, but to follow her. Zuhura, I have come to tell you I love you so much.
“I have come from Dar es Salaam just to follow her, and no one else. Even on stage, I said I would climb up here, I love you,” Diamond confessed.
“Kumpata mwanamke mstaarab kama uyu ni shida,” Diamond said proceeding to sing their hit song ‘Mtasubiri‘ as he went on his knees to plead for forgiveness.
