Kenya’s music star Willy Paul has announced that he will no longer use the name Bwana Mkunaji as his stage name.

The Jigi Jigi hitmaker said that he will not associate with the name claiming that it is evil and causes him a lot of problems.

“I would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that from today henceforth I will not be using the name ” MKUNAJI “. It’s evil and I don’t want to be associated with it! Ever since I embraced the name I’ve had too many problems,” Willy Paul said.

The name “Mkunaji” has always been translated by his music fans to mean that he loves women.

Willy Paul’s move to drop the name comes at the backdrop of allegations that he had previously sexually assaulted some women including Kenyan celebrities such as Diana Marua and Miss P.

The singer is now urging his fans to drop the name.

On that note, Willy Paul said that he will postpone the release of his new song, Toto, just to make sure that the name doesn’t feature anywhere in it.

“You’ll notice a few changes when the #toto video drops. 2022 is not a year of problems!” He exclaimed.
