Willy Paul advises men to prioritise earning money over chasing women

Kenyan songwriter and singer Willy Paul has urged men to shift their priorities, advising them to focus on financial success before pursuing romantic relationships.

In a video post to his followers on August 12, 2025, the Umeme hitmaker said that while there is nothing inherently wrong with chasing women, men should channel their energy into hustling and building wealth first.

“My fellow men, please, let us focus. Chasing women is not bad, but let us put them aside and look for money first; let us hustle; let us focus,” he stated.

This comes days after the artiste found himself at the centre of unexpected fan excitement during the official launch of his new liquor business on Thursday, May 23, 2025.

The popular singer was forced to politely dodge a kiss from a female fan during the event, a moment that has since gone viral on social media.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the visibly amused singer is seen pulling back as the enthusiastic fan leans in for a kiss.

Captioning the clip, he wrote, “She only wanted a kiss, but then I remembered how faithful I am.”

The launch

The launch, which took place in Nairobi, was a spectacle as Willy Paul made a grand entrance in a motorcade of luxury vehicles, setting the tone for a lavish affair. Fans turned up in large numbers, lining the streets and filling the venue to support the singer’s latest entrepreneurial venture.

Security had a tough time managing the crowd, as excited attendees tried to get selfies and interact with the singer. It was a show of the artiste’s growing influence beyond the music scene.

Despite the unexpected moment, Willy Paul expressed his gratitude to his supporters.

“First day of work and this happens,” he shared online, referring to the fan encounter. “Thank you for supporting. The store is now fully functional.”

Willy Paul’s decision to maintain personal boundaries while still engaging with fans has sparked conversations online, with many commending his composure and professionalism.

The singer’s foray into business adds him to the growing list of Kenyan entertainers expanding their brands into commercial ventures.
