Joe Ben Nyokabi, the content creator behind a viral video mimicking Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition presidential running mate Martha Karua, has finally met the politician.
The hilarious video that premiered on TikTok a week ago left many Kenyans in stitches with netizens praising the creative for his impressive imitating skills. The video has so far garnered over 750,000 views.
“Harooo…Asimio…Raira ni msarendo,” Nyokabi is heard imitating Karua’s campaign slogans.
Nyokabi had a rare opportunity of meeting the Narc Kenya leader during a photo shoot on Friday, June 24, 2022.
According to activist Boniface Mwangi, the comedian didn’t know the video would go viral and ‘change his life’.
“As of this morning Nyokabi Joe didn’t have a job and had rent arrears. He says he did the harooo TikTok video hoping to get 10 views but to his surprise, it went viral. He didn’t get any pay but his friends thought he had “made it!” Today, his life changed thanks to Martha Karua,” Mwangi, an ardent supporter of Karua, wrote on Twitter.

Karua has in recent weeks intensified her campaigns across the country as she seeks support for Azimio coalition’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
She was unveiled as Raila’s running mate on May 16.
Iron Lady
While naming Karua as his running mate last month, Raila described her as “a fighter and not a quitter.”
“History is calling us to produce our first female deputy president. This woman has a beautiful soul, as exhibited by her love for her children and grandchildren. She will make a great co-worker,” Raila said.
If Raila wins the presidency in August, the former Justice Minister, famously known as the ‘Iron Lady’, will become the first woman to occupy the office of the deputy president in the history of Kenya.
