Sauti Sol reunites at Bien’s Alusa Continua tour concert
By Paulette Mboga, September 21, 2025Kenyan Afro-pop band Sauti Sol reunited briefly on Saturday night, September 21, 2025, when Bien brought his fellow band members on stage during his Alusa Continua tour concert in Nairobi.
The surprise appearance by Chimano, Savara, and Fancy Fingers sparked excitement as the four performed together once again.
The reunion came years after the group officially announced they were taking an indefinite break from band activities to focus on solo projects.
Despite pursuing individual careers, the band members proved their strong bond remains intact when they hugged, danced, and performed with Fancy Fingers playing the guitar.

Surprise reunion
During Bien’s set, the energy shifted as the other three members joined him on stage, reigniting memories of the group’s unity.
Their chemistry was evident as they sang together and shared light moments, showcasing the same synergy that made them one of Africa’s most successful bands.
The appearance was brief but symbolic, marking the few times the four had performed together since stepping back from collective work.

The gesture also reaffirmed their earlier assurance to supporters that the band was not breaking up permanently but rather taking time to grow individually.
Pursuing solo careers
Sauti Sol announced their hiatus in 2023, explaining that each member wanted to explore personal projects while still preserving the band’s legacy. Bien has since released solo music and embarked on the Alusa Continua tour, which has attracted large audiences.
Savara has pursued his own music journey, focusing on a sound that blends Afro-fusion and personal storytelling.
Chimano has been exploring a distinct artistic direction with a style that emphasises individuality and bold self-expression. Fancy Fingers, known for his exceptional guitar skills, has been focusing on music production and collaborations while also releasing his own projects.
Though each member is carving out their path, their reunion on stage highlighted their lasting connection and reminded audiences of the unique magic they create when together.
Sauti Sol’s influence on the Kenyan and African music scene remains significant, with the group credited for taking Afro-pop to international stages.
Their decision to allow room for solo growth has not diluted their collective identity, as seen in the camaraderie displayed at Bien’s concert.
