Samidoh sparked a storm moments after he returned to Kenya from the US where he had been for a month.
The Mugithi singer raised a furore when he was seen around DJ Fatxo who was implicated in the death of his nephew Jeff Mwathi.
Samidoh was seen with DJ Fatxo, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and others at Habanos Lounge, Kiambu Road.
DJ Fatxo was partying at Habanos Lounge on Thursday night February 15, 2024.
Netizens expressed shock and wondered why Samidoh was hanging out with DJ Fatxo who was implicated in the death of his nephew Jeff Mwathi.
“Samidoh na Fatxo together. Useless Jeff uncle. Mathendekiah leteni matusi,” Julia Maina commented.
“Samido na Fatxo hanging out small world,” Teddy Gavin commented.
Samidoh also performed at Quiver Lounge in Kitengela that same Thursday night when he was seen hanging out with DJ Fatxo.
The Mugithi singer joined Prince Indah on stage to perform together in Kitengela.
Jeff Mwathi death
DJ Fatxo was the main suspect in the mysterious death of Samidoh’s nephew Jeff Mwathi before investigating bodies vindicated him.
Speaking to a local radio station in May 2023, DJ Fatxo said Samidoh helped prove possible suicide as the cause for Jeff Mwathi’s death at Redwood apartment in Kasarani.
Fatxo noted that Samidoh (Mwathi’s uncle) accompanied police officers investigating the incident to his house.
“Samidoh came to my house after Jeff’s death. The police requested since he was skinny that he tries going through my window to see if he would fit, and he did,” he claimed.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on April 19, 2023, completed their investigations into Jeff Mwathi’s death and handed over the file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for action.
The conclusion of the investigation came three weeks after detectives exhumed Jeff Mwathi’s remains to take more samples for analysis.
According to the DCI report, Jeff Mwathi’s death still remains inconclusive with possible suicide suggested as the strongest explanation for how he met his death.
DCI detectives were unable to pin six suspects including DJ Fatxo to Jeff Mwathi’s death.
Jeff Mwathi’s mother Ann Wacuka expressed her disappointment with the investigations carried out by the DCI into her son’s death.
DPP recommended an inquest into Jeff Mwathi’s death after agreeing with DCI’s findings that there was no evidence to suggest criminal culpability on DJ Fatxo’s part.
Jeff Mwathi’s death inquest is set to resume on March 25, 2024.
