Ruth K reveals she is 5 months celibate after dramatic split from Mulamwah

In a Q&A session on her YouTube channel on Saturday, August 9, 2025, Ruth K shared that she is currently five months into practising celibacy as she focuses on healing and planning her future.
“I will give love another chance when I’m ready. Right now, I’m five months celibate. I just decided. Practising celibacy is a good thing. I decided to plan my future. What I do nowadays is praying to God. Five months, it’s not easy. I’m proud of myself,” Ruth K said.
Ruth K described practising celibacy as a meaningful and positive choice, emphasising that it has not been easy, but she is proud of her commitment. She shared that during this time, she has been turning to prayer and self-reflection, hoping to prepare herself for a future relationship based on genuine love and mutual respect.
She emphasised the need to allow herself time to heal before being ready to love again, while recognising that there are good men out there.
“I’m praying so that the next time I fall in love with someone who loves me genuinely. But not right now. You can be in love with someone, but they don’t love you back. I believe there are good men out there, I believe in love.”
Dramatic breakup
The breakup between Mulamwah and Ruth K became a public spectacle, with both parties sharing their sides of the story on social media. Ruth K accused Mulamwah of leaking her private videos and sharing them on their son’s Instagram account.
She said this caused her emotional pain and worsened her relationship with her father. She also claimed that Mulamwah reversed a Ksh5,000 he had sent her and reposted her photos without her permission.
Mulamwah fired back with his accusations. He said Ruth K had disrespected his parents and was secretly preparing to move out while still living with him. He also accused her of spreading false rumours about his health in a WhatsApp group, which he said led to losing sponsorship deals for his shows.
Mulamwah also demanded that Ruth K return dental work he had helped pay for during their relationship.
The situation escalated when Ruth K posted a video jokingly returning the dental work, which she had removed, back to Mulamwah.
