Kenyan comedian turned activist Eric Omondi has fundraised Ksh1 million for a three-month-old child, Ayantew Wachari, who suffers from Hirschsprung’s disease.
In a post on his Instagram, Omondi said the funds would cover the cost of the necessary surgery and help the child’s mother start a business to support their family.
Sharing the uplifting news with his fans, Omondi expressed his gratitude and excitement acknowledging the efforts of everyone who came through for the family.

Eric Omondi said the child’s mother, Antonia Wanjiru, had tried everything to raise the money needed for the surgery but was unsuccessful.
In a previous post, Omondi rallied his followers to contribute so the child would undergo surgery that would cost his mother Ksh350,000.
“This is baby Ayante Wachari, 3 months old. He is suffering from Hirschsprungs. Basically he is unable to go to the toilet and requires a surgery to correct that. Omondi helps girl join school
This comes a month after the comedian rallied his followers to fundraise for a physically challenged girl to join school.
Taking to his Instagram page, Omondi reached out to his followers, urging them to join hands in assisting the girl’s family to raise funds for essential needs such as a wheelchair and schooling expenses.
The comedian-turned-activist said the funds are meant to secure a wheelchair, cover school fees and assist with necessities for the girl.
Omondi said the family faces challenges due to her physical condition and her father’s mental health struggle.
“This beautiful Princess needs to go to school tomorrow. Her Mother Roseline takes care of her. Her Father is mentally challenged. As a mother’s day gift to this mother who plays the role of a father and mother, we are going to buy this girl a wheelchair today… We will take her to school tomorrow… We will pay her entire school fees and shopping. We will also leave the mother with something to open a small business to feed her family. Team sisi kwa sisi lets bless this amazing mother,” Omondi stated.
