Octopizzo cautions against dragging family members into online conflicts

Popular rapper Octopizzo has spoken out after facing criticism from a section of Kenyans for praising President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto, following the launch of his luxury matatu dubbed Mood at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

In a post shared on his social media account on Saturday, July 19, 2025, Octopizzo cautioned Kenyans against involving family members in online spats, emphasising the importance of separating personal grievances from innocent individuals.

He pointed out that just because someone shares a name or relation does not mean they should be dragged into political or social conflicts.

“I’m a rapper; if I’ve got beef with you, that’s between me and you. Don’t come for my son just ‘cause he shares my name. He’s a doctor, not in this rap war. We can’t be preaching justice and then turn around and cancel people who aren’t even in the ring.” Octopizzo stated.

Referencing the ongoing fight for justice in the country, Octopizzo urged his followers to maintain a sense of humanity even in moments of anger. He highlighted the contradiction in calling for justice while attacking those who are not part of the conflict.

He emphasised the importance of distinguishing between personal relationships and the broader struggle for justice and accountability.

He reminded Kenyans that the real enemy remains those in power who are responsible for issuing violent directives and suppressing dissent.

Advice to public

Octopizzo called on the public to remain grounded in truth and humanity, even while pushing for change.

He criticised the government under President Ruto, accusing it of having blood on its hands due to the killing of innocent Kenyans during recent protests.

According to him, those responsible for giving such orders must be held accountable and step aside from leadership.

“Let’s be real about our fights. Demand change, hold the killers in power accountable, but don’t let your anger make you lose your balance. This government under the leadership of President Ruto has blood on its hands. That’s a fact. Anyone giving kill orders against Kenyans needs to step down. Period. Stay sharp. Stay human. Call for truth, not blind vengeance,” he added.
