Comedian Timothy Kimani popularly known as Njugush turned down a lucrative job offer from Kiss FM because of the terms and conditions of the contract he was given.

Speaking during an interview with Nairobi News, Njugush said he was approached by Kiss FM last year – around the time Jalang’o was leaving the station.

Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwour aka Jalang’o quit Kiss FM to join politics in February 2022 and the station embarked on a mission to find his replacement.

Njugush said Kiss FM approached him with a job offer but the terms and conditions of the contract offered to him were unfavourable to him.

The comedian noted that the major issue was the time.

“There was that time in 2022 Kiss FM wanted to hire me but it didn’t work out. There was that suggestion but the particular segment didn’t work out because of a few issues. Majorly it was because of time,” Njugush said.

The comedian, however, did not reveal the fine details of the show he was approached to host.

Kiss FM ultimately picked Obinna to replace Jalang’o. The former worked at the station for one year until his contract expired on April 17, 2023.

Obinna worked with Kamene Goro until January 27, 2023, when she quit and was replaced by Kwambox.

With Obinna’s exit, a new presenter will be hired to fill his position. The comedian recently decided to advise his successor about the salary they should seek from Kiss FM management.
