Nigerian star Qing Madi eyes collaboration with Nikita Kering

During a Q&A session on her Instagram page on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, a fan asked Madi to consider a collaboration with the celebrated Kenyan vocalist.
The Ole hitmaker responded warmly, sharing a personal connection with Nikita’s music.
“Please collab with Nikita Kering from Kenya,” the fan had requested
“Funny story … I used to go to sleep to her songs … love her,” Qing Madi wrote.
Nikita’s fame
Nikita Kering is a celebrated Kenyan singer known for her powerhouse vocals and emotive storytelling. She rose to fame as a teenager and has since grown into one of East Africa’s most accomplished artists.
Her breakout moment came in 2018 when she won the “Best New Artist” award at the Pulse Music Video Awards.
Since then, Nikita has received numerous accolades, including the “Best Female Artist” award at the 2019 AFRIMMA Awards and the “Female Video of the Year” award at the 2022 Pulse Music Video Awards.
In 2022, Nikita Kering secured a partnership with Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty cosmetics line.
Sharing the exciting news on her social media platforms, the ‘EX’ singer announced that she would be fronting a national campaign for the brand, which officially kicked off on Friday, May 27, 2022.
“It’s such an honour to lead the Fenty Skin and Fenty Beauty campaign here in Kenya,” she wrote, adding that her go-to Fenty products would be available at Lintons stores starting that Friday.
She also extended her gratitude to the Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin teams for the opportunity.
In addition to her musical and commercial success, Nikita has taken an active role in advocating for the rights of creatives. In June 2025, she was at the forefront of the AU and U.S.-Kenya Creative Economy Forum held in Nairobi, where she passionately championed the rights of artists, calling for greater investment in the creative sector, fair compensation, and more support for young talent across Africa.
Qing Madi, on the other hand, born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, is one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising music stars. She broke into the industry with her unique fusion of Afrobeat, R&B, and soul, quickly earning a loyal fan base. Her hit single, American Love, brought her into the spotlight, making her a household name across West Africa and beyond.
