Moses Bliss: I met my wife on Instagram

By , October 21, 2025

Nigerian gospel star Moses Bliss has opened up about how he met his Ghanaian wife, Marie Wiseborn, revealing that their love story began on Instagram after she danced to one of his songs.

He announced their engagement in January 2024, followed by their wedding two months later in a ceremony attended by family, friends, and fans on January 10, 2025.

Speaking at a local podcast on Tuesday, October 20, 2025, about their unconventional meeting, Bliss said he was browsing through social media when he came across her video.

“We met on Instagram. She danced to my song. I was checking people out. People think that because I have millions of followers, I don’t check people out, but I do,” he said.

The “Too Faithful” hitmaker explained that contrary to popular belief, social media can be a genuine place to find love.

“Some ladies believe they cannot meet their partners on social media, but the world is different now. Years ago, you had to meet physically — in church, in markets, or on the road. But now, God has made it even easier. You have a global audience to choose from,” he added.

Moses Bliss emphasised that technology has transformed how people connect, noting that he has travelled the world and realised that “humans are the same everywhere.”

“I tell people with these people that ask how you can meet someone on social media and marry them. Some ladies believe that they cannot meet their partners on social media; the world is different now. Years ago, for you to meet someone, to like them, to marry them, you people had to meet physically. In church, markets, roads, or somewhere.”

Recounting how he took the bold step to approach his wife, he said, “She danced to my song, and I went to her DM to register my interest. I’m not scared of anybody. If I like you, I’ll send you a message. I’m very good; I go for what I want.”

Bliss also revealed that he involved his pastor early in the process.

“The next time I met with my pastor, I told him there’s someone I saw on Instagram. He said, ‘Let me see her picture.’ The moment he saw her, he said, “I think she’s a well-brought-up child; just give it time and see how it goes.”

The singer added that he later dropped his number in her DM and asked her to text him, a move that began a beautiful love story that has since captured fans’ hearts across the continent.
