Journalist Larry Madowo raised eyebrows after he was seen feasting on boiled snails in a city street in Morocco.

In a video he posted on social media, the CNN Africa correspondent was seen using a toothpick to pluck the boiled snail meat off the shell and chewed it with no regret.

“I ate snails 🐌 in Morocco. They were tastier than I expected!” Larry Madowo captioned a video of himself eating the snail.

Larry Madowo added that he had no qualms whatsoever about eating taboo foods while replying to netizens who raised concerns about eating snails.

“There’s nothing I won’t eat. Would you try some boiled snails? 🐌 Snails are a delicacy in many parts of Africa. Don’t sleep on them,” Madowo wrote.

Mice

The video of Madowo feasting on snails in Morocco comes four years after he caused jitters among netizens when he was seen eating roasted mice in Malawi.

Madowo on May 23, 2019, shared a video of himself eating roasted mice which he bought from a vendor by the road in Malawi.

The celebrated journalist claimed that mice taste just like chicken.

“I ate a mouse 🐁 for the first time and it was, well, amazing! Mice (not rats!) are a delicacy among the Chewa of central Malawi. I will eat anything and I had to try these. They’re eaten whole with the skin and everything. Tastes just like chicken 😉,” Madowo wrote.

Madowo is known for off-the-camera antics, he caused a stir in August this year when he was seen reporting for CNN without pants on.

The camera was only focused on Madowo’s torso meaning viewers didn’t get to see that he was wearing tiny shorts while reporting.
