Kanyari shares more receipts as he fights claims of not providing for his children

By , November 21, 2025

Pastor Victor Kanyari has released a new batch of screenshots showing past conversations with the late gospel singer Betty Bayo, saved in his phone as “Mama Sky”, as he continues to defend himself against claims that he was not present or financially supportive in his children’s lives.

The screenshots, which span from 2023 to early 2025, appear to show multiple exchanges in which Betty updated him on school matters, thanked him for payments, and confirmed receipt of support for their children, Sky and Dany Victor.

Kanyari has been posting the messages one set at a time and intensified the posting on Friday, November 21, 2025, days after publicly insisting that he always provided for his children even after his separation from the late singer.

In the first set of messages dated March 3, 2024, Betty informed him that the Ksh50,000 he had sent for Sky’s acting school had been received.

She followed the confirmation with a note thanking him for being present in his daughter’s life and expressing optimism that Sky would one day surprise him for his efforts.

“Hi, rem. the 50k for sky acting school. Thanks received thanks for being there for your daughter, one day she will surprise you,” the first message from Betty read.

Another message from May 12, 2023, shows Betty thanking him again, this time for taking their son Danny to a new school, noting that the child was so happy.

“Thanks for taking Danny to the new school. He is sooo happy,” the May 2023 text read.

Additional exchanges from May 30, 2023, show Kanyari requesting to spend time with his children, to which Betty responded by simply telling him to call them directly.

“Hi….afternoon Saturday Nataka Watoto,” Kanyari wrote to Mama Sky.

“You have their phone call them, mpangane,” Betty responded.

Screenshots also include a forwarded reminder sent to parents by Woodcreek School concerning outstanding balances, followed by Betty outlining the remaining fees for both children.

She told him that Sky’s school fees were Ksh342,000, noting that he had already paid Ksh230,000.

She also indicated that Danny’s remaining balance was Ksh8,000. In that same exchange, she instructed him to send Ksh114,000 directly to her and not to the school, explaining that she intended to use part of it for Sky’s tuition in the United States.

“Woodcreek, to Me & 5 more, Dear Parents. This is a polite reminder for you to clear an outstanding fee balance of Ksh. 54,278/. Kindly make payment by Friday, 02nd June 2023, as the students will not be allowed to report back to school with any outstanding fee after the mid-term break. Please find the attached statements for your reference. The fee payment can be made through the accounts,” the message Betty forwarded to the self-styled healer read.

A later message from January 10, 2025, also appeared in the collection, though its content mainly served to mark the timeline of continued exchanges between them.

Parenting record

These posts come only days after Kanyari publicly defended his parenting record during a sermon at his Njiiru-based church in which he stated that he worked hard to give his children the best education and upbringing possible.

He told congregants that he personally ensured they attended a top international school, insisting that the fluent English they speak was a direct result of his efforts.

“That good English my children speak is because of me, it’s my money. I’m the one who enrolled them in an international school, the best in Kenya. We pay Ksh500,000 per term there, and I’ve never told anyone in my family because they would say it’s too much,” Kanyari said during the service.
